when it comes to music, the market is full with a lot of apps. when we first thought about our product idea, we knew that the there will be similar apps to ours. what we came to see is that although other competitors have brought our idea to an exciting app, rival apps are mostly based on a social media, it takes a long time until you can create a playlist and the apps are surprisingly slow. which can be exhausting to the user.
The main competitors that we found resembling our product were:
CROWDCAST: you can control your playlist based on WIFI, from cloud music. Allows the user to play tunes from the songs library on his mobile.
MUSIC SESSIONS – the apps allows to play one song each time in multiple devices. A game that allows each user to choose a song in his turn. The user has to wait until a song is over and only then he can send his own song.
SIZZLE – a social media for playlist's. There are news feeds, comments and a like option.
MUSE – an app that connect multiple devices based on WIFI. This app is not working well and does not respond to the user actions.
SOUNDWAVE – creating private group chats that allows sharing songs from youtube and soundcloud while chatting with your friends. The song sharing allows you to hear only 30 seconds of the song.
BEATHEAT – sharing music based on WIFI. Allows only songs from the music library of the device.
MUSX - an app that based on social network interaction , the user can create and share playlists with friends. The app resembles Instagram. You are required to open an account, follow your friends, and only afterward you can enjoy the playlist together. commenting and like are options. The user is required to pick a song so that the playlist will start.
While the market is filled with similar apps to ours, they lack the unique selling point, minimalism, and simplicity to make it not only fun but also effective it what it is built to do. Our goal is to create an app that is fast and to the point when it comes to user experience, so that any person who starts using our app will immediately understand and enjoy this superb fun tool with his friends. Although we have a lot of competition, we believe that our unique selling point will make it highly successful.
